No Hat, No Play
Starting in Week 9 of Term 3, we’ve introduced a new rule to keep everyone safe and enjoying the sunshine during recess and lunch breaks. From now on, students who forget their hats will be asked to take a break in the cool and shaded COLA area, instead of playing on the oval or other outdoor spaces. They will participate in seated play instead.
Here’s what we’re focusing on:
Wearing a Hat: A hat is more than just a fun accessory. It’s an important way to protect yourself from the sun and stay safe while enjoying outdoor activities.
Taking a Break Under the COLA: If a student forgets their hat, they will sit under the COLA and engage in seated play with friends instead.
Respecting the Rule: Teachers will regularly remind students about the importance of wearing hats to protect themselves from the sun.
Looking Out for Each Other: Together, we can keep each other safe! Students are encouraged to remind their friends to wear their hats, so everyone can enjoy the outdoors safely and have fun.
Our goal is to keep the playground a fun, sunny, and safe space for everyone. By wearing a hat, we can enjoy more room to play and make sure everyone stays safe under the sun. It’s easy to forget a hat now and then, but little actions like remembering your own or reminding a friend make a big difference and help keep our community strong!
