Principal Report

Welcome back to Term 4
With term 4 already well underway, staff and students have been preparing for and organising many exciting special events. This Includes our footy day celebration, Grandparents & Special Friends morning tea and classroom visits and our transition session and morning tea to welcome our new students and families to Belmore School. We also held our second annual Belmore Sports Carnival, which is always wonderful to see our students engaging in such a variety of adapted activities and embodying house spirit and cheering on their peers. We are looking forward to more events to come later in the term including our student-led end of year celebration and activities.
ASDAN
Our senior students and staff have been working very hard to complete all of their ASDAN work and portfolios for final submission. It has been fabulous to see the students' selecting their final pieces and I am very much looking forward to the student's presentation of their work once this is complete. ASDAN is an alternative senior curriculum program, developed in the UK, which empowers learners of all abilities to develop life skills and prepare for life post school. It was wonderful to participate in the opening of our student-led pop-up cafe and the hard work of the students and staff in developing this project.
Friends and Family event
We are looking forward to hosting a fun event for family, friends and extended school community to attend this term. This will be held on Wednesday the 19th of November from 1:45pm - 4:30pm. It is an opportunity to experience our newly completed playground and learning spaces, explore students' art and classroom activities through a gallery walk and classroom interactive booths. It is also an opportunity to meet and mingle with members of our extended school community - including staff, families and community partners who have provided support to our school community in various ways. Please contact the office if you have any specific questions or would like more information.
World Teacher's Day
On Wednesday the 29th we celebrated World Teachers' Day with a lovely afternoon tea. The theme this year of 'recasting teaching as a collaborative profession', highlights the importance of collaboration as a driver of educational transformation and a key component in supporting teachers to thrive. Thank you to the ES and Allied Health Team for organising such as lovely celebration.
