POR - Role Descriptions

These role descriptions are to detail the roles and responsibilities of positions within the College that are available for staff to apply for annually in addition to their normal duties
Domain Leader
Role: The Domain leader will provide a coordinated approach to develop, document and implement a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum that supports the School’s Strategic Plan. The Leader will work with teams of staff to build capacity and support effective teacher practice.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
Coordination of staffing across the domain, knowing the current state of each team and assist in planning
Overseeing the domain curriculum and timelines, auditing and planning next steps
Ensure timely feedback and support is given to planning teams to develop capacity to build a GVC.
Keeping track of the domain budget
Plan, communicate and facilitate the year 7 orientation day in conjunction with APs.
Plan, communicate and facilitate subject options for senior years
Conducting Domain meetings regularly with purpose
Work with appropriate ES to ensure smooth running of departments.
Other duties as required by the Principal

Reports to: Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning Innovation
Vocational & Applied Learning Leader
Role: The Vocational and Applied Learning Leader will ensure the successful running of the VCEVM and Future Pathways Programs at Glenroy College.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
Facilitate VCEVM information nights and celebrations
Facilitate the application process for entry into VCEVM
Oversee the facilitation of the Future Pathways Program (curriculum) at year 10
Coordination of staffing across the domain, knowing the current state of each team and assist in planning

Instrumental Music Leader
Role: The Instrumental Music Program Leader is responsible for organising and administering the co-curricular Music Program
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
- develop and promote instrumental music to students
- maintain & replace instruments
- manage staff timetables & student roster
- review and assess program success including feedback from students
- provide articles about student learning in Instrumental music for Newsletter and Social Media
- showcase work of Instrumental music students to the community

AEU Staff representative
Role: The AEU (Australian Education Union) Representative acts as the key liaison between school staff and the AEU. The role involves supporting union members, promoting fair working conditions, and ensuring that staff are informed about their rights and responsibilities under the VGSA and other relevant agreements.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
- Represent AEU members in discussions with school leadership.
- Communicate union information, updates, and initiatives to staff.
- Support members with advice and guidance on workplace matters.
- Promote union membership and encourage professional collaboration.
- Attend AEU meetings and report back to staff on key issues.
- Ensure workplace practices align with the VGSA and Department of Education policies.

Timetable / Daily Organiser
Role: The Daily Organiser ensures that classes are covered in the event that a teacher is absent from their class. The Timetabler works closely with the Daily Organiser to facilitate smooth operations for scheduling of classes, teachers and rooms available
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
- Manage daily operations, ensuring that classes are covered in the event that a teacher is absent
- Organise CRTs as appropriate
- Distribute work left for extras
- Maintain appropriate forms in DO Office
- Oversee Exam and Orientation schedules
- Inform staff of outcomes from Consultative Committee applications for excursions and events
- In consultation with the Assistant Principal/Leadership Team, develop and distribute the meeting schedule each term

Sport Enrichment Leader
Role: he Sports Enrichment Leader plays a key role in promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing sporting culture within the school. This role supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of sports enrichment programs that foster student engagement, wellbeing, teamwork, and achievement across all year levels.
The Sports Enrichment Leader works closely with the PE department, coaches, and school leadership to coordinate opportunities for students to participate in sport, represent the school, and develop skills in leadership, resilience, and fair play.
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
- Coordinate and oversee the school’s Sports Enrichment Program, ensuring it aligns with the school’s values and strategic goals.
- Support the identification and selection of students for sports enrichment opportunities.
- Lead the planning and delivery of training sessions, workshops, and enrichment activities.
- Promote participation, excellence, and sportsmanship among all students.
- Mentor students to develop leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline through sport.
- Monitor student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing within the program.
- Encourage a balance between academic and sporting commitments.
- Coordinate student participation in interschool competitions, tournaments, and community sporting events.
- Support the organisation of school carnivals, sporting showcases, and celebration events.
- Support the organisation of the AFL Academy
- Represent the school and program at relevant sporting meetings and events.
- Liaise with staff, coaches, and external sporting organisations to enhance opportunities for students.
- Communicate program goals, expectations, and achievements to students, parents, and staff.
- Contribute to promotional materials, newsletters, and social media highlighting student success.
- Manage relevant documentation, attendance, and risk assessments for sporting activities.
- Ensure health, safety, and child safeguarding standards are upheld.
- Support evaluation and reporting on the program’s impact and outcomes.

After School Tutoring Supervisor
Role: To build a whole school afterschool program where staff can support students with their homework and learning
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
Promoting After School Tutoring
Setting up the library space
Using a budget to arrange snacks and materials for tutor groups
Inviting teachers to support students
Liaising with College media to promote

Reports to: Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning Innovation
Data and Assessment
Role: To build a culture within the college where assessment is utilised to inform teaching and learning as well as reflection on the effectiveness of teaching and learning
Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
Oversee and communicate assessment and reporting timelines in consultation with the Curriculum Committee
Develop a data management plan for the college, including how PAT, NAPLAN and other sources of student achievement data is utilised
Other duties as required by the Principal
