Role Descriptions

These role descriptions are to detail the Inclusion and Wellbeing roles and responsibilities of positions within the College that are attached to specific, permanent roles

Inclusion Coordinator

 

Role: The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the inclusion program which involves collaborating with staff, families and students on in-classroom support, individual support plans, individual learning and behaviour assessments and resources to meet the individual needs of the inclusion students.

Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following: 

  • Maintaining an up-to-date record of inclusion students including diagnoses, external service providers, medical conditions, individual needs and relevant support plans (and adhering to all DET requirements).
  • Liaising with external providers to ensure they have the right documentation and information to support students onsite at the college, and ensuring this is communicated to the appropriate staff members. 
  • Coordinating the daily/ weekly/ termly inclusion timetable to ensure students are receiving equitable support in the classroom. 
  • Checking-in with inclusion staff to make sure they know what they are doing and where they need to be on a daily/ weekly basis. 
  • Working with the Inclusive Education Leading Teacher to book termly Student Support Group meetings for all inclusion students and their families, and ensuring the relevant staff members are present. Overseeing the documentation of minutes and ensuring they are logged on Compass. 
  • Working with the Inclusive Education Leading Teacher to ensure all inclusion students have the relevant support plans and these can be found easily on Compass (e.g. IEPs, BSPs and others as needed). 
  • Working in the Disability and Inclusion team to identify possible students for funding applications. Providing support to follow up information and documentation, and ensuring this is stored correctly. 
  • Coordinating the follow-up of information from staff about students to support Vinelands, IEPs, BSPs, Student voice profiles, Student profiles, Family voice profiles and more. This also includes student observations in the classroom. 
  • Communicating directly with inclusion students and families to make sure they know about upcoming events, excursions and any important dates. 
  • Supporting transition of inclusion students into the school, including liaising with families, Primary Schools (or other schools) and other organisations to obtain the right information and documentation (such as Vinelands) to support the student at the College.
  • Checking-in with the Inclusive Leading Teacher and Business Manager to make sure funding allocation is clear and being utilised in the most efficient way. 
  • Supporting any Inclusion placement students by ensuring they have the right documentation and are able to finalise their online-learning as well. 
  • Working with Sub Schools and Teachers to make sure we have the most up to date information about students and to work together to get them at school. As well as providing support to utilise specific adjustments in the classroom. 
  • Providing support in the General Office, Sub School Office and First Aid Office when needed. 
  • Other duties as required by the Principal

Inclusion Support

 

Role: Inclusion staff work with the Inclusive Leading Teacher and Inclusion Coordinator to support student learning and engagement in and out of the classroom. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following: 

  • Review the daily timetable to check where they need to be during each session on the day, including which students they will be supporting and the main adjustments needed for these students. 
  • Provide individualised support for inclusion students including supporting them to be in class on time, to start work in the lesson,  to understand new content or skills, to connect the learning to something they understand and/ or providing them with opportunities to engage with other agreed-on adjustments (e.g. use of assistive technology). 
  • Share feedback about student's learning, engagement and behaviour with the inclusion and sub school teams, and working collaboratively to adjust support plans for these students. 
  • Attend and supervise internal and external events, and excursions, with inclusion students and the broader classes.
  • Provide input into Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, and other plans, and review these plans regularly to make sure they are aware of and enacting the strategies listed in these plans when working with the students. 
  • Attend Student Support Group meetings when requested and provide administration support to document minutes and actions. 
  • Participate in professional learning to support their practice in the classroom (e.g. use of adjustments or understanding medical conditions). 
  • Other duties as required by the Principal

Disability Inclusion Support

Role: The role focuses on supporting the Disability Inclusion Profile process, including the preparation and submission of applications, coordination of meetings, and collection of evidence to ensure equitable support for students with disability

 

Responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:

  • Support the coordination and completion of Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) applications.
  • Gather, organise, and maintain relevant documentation and evidence for profile meetings.
  • Liaise with staff, families, and allied health professionals to ensure accurate information is provided.
  • Schedule and support the facilitation of profile meetings in line with DET timelines.
  • Assist in tracking application progress and outcomes to inform resource planning and student support.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with DET Disability Inclusion policy and school procedures.
  • Contribute to a culture of inclusion and advocacy for students with disability.
  • Other duties as required by the Principal
