Spotlight on Learning Echidna

The Echidna pod is buzzing with excitement as we have welcomed duck eggs for incubation and hatching! This hands-on experience perfectly aligns with our current science unit on living things, giving us a unique opportunity to observe what ducklings need to survive first-hand and deepen our understanding of living things.
Throughout this journey, students are developing their skills of careful observation, recording their findings, and discussing changes as the ducklings grow. It has been inspiring to see their curiosity and responsibility flourish as they nurture these new arrivals.
To enrich our learning even further, we’ve been enjoying singing the song “Five Little Ducks”. The Echidna pod has been practising very hard and are so excited to share our singing with you. Be sure to check out the video linked below to sing along at home!
In literacy, the ducklings have inspired us to sharpen our writing skills. The Echidna students have been writing about ducks using simple sentences. It has been so delightful to see their excitement to write about our lovely ducklings!
We look forward to learning more as our ducklings grow and the learning continues to unfold in Echidna!
