Year 4 Excursion to Science Works

On Wednesday the 30th of July we went to Scienceworks. I really liked the marble roller coaster because we got to design a track and got to do team work. And we even did a loop on the track which was successful and really fun to do. Afterwards we went to the exhibit but that was pretty boring and wasn't fun at all in my opinion. And last was Tinkertown, which was super fun. We got to make a cubby house and a car made out of wood and plastic screws and overall, it was a lot of fun. My thing was the coaster because it was 100 percent. It was a lot of fun.

On Wednesday, the 23rd of July, the year 4s went on an excursion to Scienceworks. When we arrived we quickly ate our snacks before starting our first activity, Tinkertown, where we had to design carts with wheels and build forts using pillows. After that, we moved on to our second activity, the Rollercoaster Simulator. In this activity, we worked in groups to create mini rollercoasters using rubber tracks, pipes and giant LEGO blocks. The Gallery was our last activity, where we got to participate in virtual games that tested how well we could compete with professional athletes. Most of the year 4s agreed that this was the best excursion yet!

On the 30th of July, we went to Science Works and had lots of fun there. We learnt lots of things about science and technology. We went to a place inside Science Works called Tinkertown. Tinkertown was a place where we could build/create buildings and vehicles with our imagination. Our whole class built a huge fort with the magnetic, shape pillows and we included two other people who helped us build it. We had lots of fun and excitement during our visit to Science Works!
