School News

Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with world-renowned educational neuroscientist, Dr Jared Cooney Horvath, who conducted our diocesan wide three days of professional learning at the beginning of term 2. Jared is a global leader in the Science of Learning, and his work offers powerful insights into how students learn and how we can best support them to thrive at school and beyond.
As part of this partnership, Dr Horvath has developed a special series of presentations specifically for parents and carers, focusing on how to understand and support children on their learning journey.
We are delighted to be able to share these three informative recordings with our school community as we continue our shared mission of helping every student reach their full potential. We will offer 2 of these recordings as Parent sessions in the school library and warmly invite parents to attend. Mitchell Bull (Police liaison – youth) will be present at the first parent session to answer questions relating to tech use and young people from the perspective of police and education programs. He is very generous with his time and is a great resource for schools.
Please see below for the presentation topics and how to access them.

The Sacred Heart Athletics Day will be happening on Friday the 5th of September. This will be after the Blokes Breakfast in the morning. The day will start with marching in the Quadrangle at 9.05 and then a full day of events down on the oval. Students will participate in their year levels in a variety of Athletics events across the course of the day. They will practice with all the equipment and learn the techniques in their PE lessons leading up to the day.

3-6 Interschool Athletics Day Save The Date
The 3-6 Interschool District Athletics Day will be happening on Monday the 8th of September at Howley Oval. Students will compete in age groups against students from Tatura Primary and Toolamba for a chance to qualify for the Division Athletics meet in Shepparton at a later date. Permission forms and further details for this day will be sent out soon.
STEM
This term, for STEM, Grade 5/6 students are diving into the exciting world of Physical Science with a focus on electricity. They will explore different forms of electricity, beginning the unit with a frizzingly fun investigation into static electricity. Through hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning, students will build their understanding of how electricity works and where we see it in everyday life.
Keep being curious
Mrs Farran.
