Student Learning

Foundation
The preps have been at school for 90 days!!! Didn't that go quickly?
Zero the Hero came to visit them and they all completed a fun maths activity counting by 10s.
Prep G looked at 'Text to self' during reading. Afterwards they 'Turned and Talked' to their partner about their connections.
The preps had a blast playing balloon tennis in Skillzone.
On Tuesday the preps visited the 5/6 area to look at their amazing information reports.
The preps also created their own information reports on an animal of their choosing. They have loved researching and finding new fun facts.
Year 1/2
The students have worked incredibly hard to complete their second information report on a minibeast. To celebrate their efforts, the 1/2 students hosted a gallery walk for the whole school to showcase their work.
We have been learning how to follow directions by selecting appropriate strategies from the problem-solving wheel. The students used the AFL ladder to place the teams in the correct order.
The multipurpose room was buzzing after our hands-on minibeast incursion. After a short role-play exploring minibeast, the students rotated through the Bugtopia Tent, where they handled and fed minibeasts such as stick insects, butterflies, giant litter bugs, Yabbies and more. After the bug tent, students continued their discoveries at different stations where they caught aquatic minibeasts and viewed bugs up close under microscopes.
The students have enjoyed playing T-Ball in PE.
Year 3/4
3/4s have left the classroom! We went exploring looking for angles in the real word. They will now need to explain what type of angle they have found and its properties.
Mia and Jaxson have had the goal of improving their math notebooks, fantastic improvements! Well done guys!
Students have been working very hard on their information reports. Researching and presenting on many different topics! They then presented their reports to their peers.
These four have been voted by their peers as having the best information reports!!
Year 5/6
Students have been annotating a close read text. While annotating the 5/6 students have completed a close read booklet using inferring, analysing and synthesising skills.
In writing students started a non-fiction passion project piece which they have continued with all week.
Maths this week included tasks working within a budget to apply real world scenarios where they had to "buy iPads and accessories" and fit the items in so they were within their budget.
Another task the 5/6 enjoyed was to gather information on their chosen topic and use this data to put into a bar graph.
