Principal's Update

Hi everyone,
It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the year! Our students have achieved some excellent results and should all be extremely proud of their work. Well done to all the students and staff for their hard work this semester! Everyone has done extremely well and we are excited to see what you'll accomplish next semester!
Spelling Bee
This week the students participated in the Spelling Bee. All participants did an excellent job and should be very proud of themselves. A special congratulations to our amazing spelling bee champions! They worked really hard to learn all the tricky words and showed incredible focus and determination up on stage. Their dedication to studying and practicing has truly paid off, and you should feel very proud of yourselves. We're excited to see what other great things you'll accomplish this year!
Lions Junior Public Speaking
Our students represented the school in the Lions Club Junior Public Speaking Competition. Well done to all our participants; they did an exceptional job to gain the confidence to get up and speak in front of an audience!
EMMAC Winners
Congratulations to 5/6B for achieving the highest attendance rate for the term, and congratulations to the students who achieved an incredible 100% attendance for the year! Coming to school every day shows how much you care about learning and sets a great example for other students. Your amazing teamwork in being here every day has made your classroom a better place to learn and grow. Their efforts were rewarded with an excursion to the cinemas to see Elio.
School Reports
Our semester 1 school reports have been sent home with students today. Families are able to view reports via Compass. Parents and carers will need to log in to Compass, either on a computer or through the mobile app, and navigate to the reports tab. All reports are able to be downloaded and printed from here. If you need assistance logging into compass please contact the office.
Mental Health Awareness Day
To foster a supportive and understanding community we are running an afternoon dedicated to promoting mental health awareness within our school community. All families and friends of CPS are invited to attend. We are lucky enough to have Skillzone Sports Pty Ltd running activities. Skillzone will run a kids vs adults competition as well as other tabloid events will be available for both adults and kids to take part in.
Enjoy a free sausage sizzle while connecting with others and learning valuable resources to support mental health.
We are very grateful to be welcoming Dale Skinner from the Black Dog Institute and ambassador for RUOK who will be our guest speaker on the day.
To assist with catering for the event, we will be sending out a google sheet through Compass to all families. We ask that you please complete the form with your intention to attend and how many guests you will be bringing along.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Have a great holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday the 22nd of July, don't forget Monday the 21st July is a pupil free day!
