Healthy Eating >>>>>>> Healthy Living

We have been working on the final benchmark of the Achievement Program this year. Exciting news …… We are nearly there!! We have a few final things to put together before we submitthe last pieces of work. Achieving a healthy eating benchmark doesn’t just stop at that … we keep going. Our college is committed to providing suggestions and education for students, staff, parents and the wider community around the benefits of eating healthy. We have some information below about healthy lunchboxes and the benefits of healthy eating for our students learning and overall physical and mental health.

Healthy lunchbox ideas:

Students need to eat a variety of foods every day to be healthy and perform well at school. Ideal school lunches should include at least one item from each food group and also include water. Encourage students to get involved in the planning, shopping and preparation of food for their school lunches, so they are more likely to enjoy them. Find some great ideas with the DPV Build your own healthy lunchbox

Body Kind Month

August is BodyKind month.

The Butterfly Foundation aims to support positive body image and create a safe and positive environment which encourages everyone to be kind to their own body. This is being promoted with the 2025 campaign ‘be kind to our own body and to others.’

The below link provides information for schools, youth and families.

Breakfast Club

A reminder that Breakfast Club is available Monday to Friday from 7.50am to 8.30am. We encourage students who have not had a bite to eat to come along and get some toast and a hot milo. A healthy breakfast is just the thing we need to help us start the day well. 😊

The Breakfast Club Team are also looking for anyone who would like to volunteer their time to help on the days we provide Breakfast Club. Please let the Wellbeing Team know if you’d like to help. We are also looking for donations of Milo and cheese. Any donations can be given to the General Office or Wellbeing.

Mid-Year Break

The Wellbeing Team wish all families a safe and relaxing break. For our parents/carers who continue to work over the school holidays, please remember to be kind to yourself.

To our students, use the holidays to spend time with family and friends, get some rest and prepare yourself for a strong Semester 2 of learning.
