Year 10 OHS Incursion

On 3 June, all Year 10s participated in an Occupational Health and Safety incursion in preparation for their upcoming work experience. Ms Caitlin Mackay and Mrs Elena Flodstrom presented all that there is to know about looking after yourself and others in the workplace, with some interesting real life stories to send the message home of the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace.

By the end of the incursion all students were able to attain a General and Industry Module Safe@Work Certificate. More excitingly, some won chocolates throughout the presentation.

The Careers Department will be taking Year 12s through the VTAC and SEAS process in Term 3. To help caregivers and students understand the process, VTAC offer Webinars. Registration is now open.

Exciting new VET offerings coming to Nazareth 2026

To meet the demand for VET offerings on Campus at Nazareth, the following exciting news can be announced:

  • Inspiring Beauty is increasing its offerings to include VET Salon Assistant – Barbering in 2026. This will be a great opportunity for students considering a career in Barbering to attain a VCE Unit 1 & 2 sequence as a part of their VCE VET or VCE VM program.  Please see Brochures for more information.
  • Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation is  going to be offered. This is a 2 year program with assessments and an end of Year Examination which allows the result to contribute to an ATAR score as a part of the primary four.

There is a minimum number of students needed to run these offerings (usually 10) so it’s important that students include them in their preferences so it can be considered. Other campus offerings include Cookery, Information Technology, Laboratory Skills, Music Industry – Performance, Business, Active Volunteering, Beauty Services and Dance.

Completing a VET at Year 11 opens so many pathways for students including:

  • Having  a recognised certificate as well as the VCE certificate.
  •  Enabling students to get a taste of industry skills and expectations to help make career decisions.
  • Some courses compliment VCE subjects to help consolidate knowledge.
