A Message from the Principal
Mrs Pauline Long
Congratulations to our stage 3 students for their outstanding performance last week at the Tamworth City Eisteddfod in the Choral Speech section. Special recognition and thanks to Mrs Rebecca Hofman for her leadership in selecting the poems and guiding the students how to perform to a high standard.
It was more than just a performance; it was a learning experience that enabled our students to grow in many ways:
Our students learnt to speak clearly, project their voices and express themselves with confidence.
It took many hours of hard work to learn the two poems by heart which is great for developing memory skills.
They learnt to be more confident and perform on stage to a large audience.
The team setting boosted collaboration and helped even the shy students to overcome stage fright.
The students were proud of their efforts especially as they won the Small Schools section and also were Runners Up out of all the schools that performed. This was an extremely notable achievement!
The adjudicator, Mrs Robyn Christmas, noted on her feedback how well the voices blended, how confident the students were, how the second poem was fun and performed with excellent interpretation. She also commented that being a small group was not a disadvantage!
This Thursday our Stage 1 and Stage 2 students will perform in the Musical Ensemble section of the Eisteddfod. We thank Miss Hannah Caterer for preparing the students so well and I look forward to their performance.
Have a wonderful week
