From the Year 6 Classroom

Dear Parents and Families,
As we come to the end of Term 2, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all the fantastic learning, leadership, and growth we’ve seen in Year 6. It has been a busy and rewarding term, and we are so proud of the way our students have embraced every opportunity.
Literacy
We have continued our poetry unit, focusing on analysing language and structure, and how poets use words to evoke emotion and meaning. Students have enjoyed reading, discussing, and even having a go at writing their own poems.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, our focus on patterns and algebra has encouraged students to identify and extend number sequences and apply logical reasoning to more complex problems. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow throughout the term.
Inquiry – A Diverse and Connected World
We wrapped up our Inquiry unit by exploring how people, cultures, and communities across the world are connected. The students have developed a greater understanding of global citizenship and the importance of cultural awareness and the importance of relationships between countries.
Highlights
James Bray had a fantastic two days representing at State Golf in Bendigo. He placed 18th out of approximately 35 competitors, lowered his handicap, and carried himself with maturity and professionalism throughout the event.
Upcoming Event – PJ Day!
We’re excited to let you know that next week we’ll be celebrating the end of term with a Whole School Pyjama Day on Friday, 4th July! To make it a fun and cozy day, students are to come dressed in their favourite PJ’s.
