Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Week: A celebration of culture, connection and community
During Reconciliation Week, our school community came together to honour and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions. This year’s theme, "Now More Than Ever," reminded us of the importance of ongoing dialogue, respect, and unity.
The events were proudly organised and run by our Cultural Connections team and Student Representative Council (SRC), showcasing student leadership, collaboration, and cultural awareness.
At lunchtime, students participated in a range of meaningful and creative activities. Our Cultural Garden area came to life with vibrant rock painting and face painting, while native Australian animal painting offered students a chance to connect with nature and explore traditional Indigenous art styles. Garden games added a playful and inclusive atmosphere to the event, bringing students together across year levels.
In a show of initiative and compassion, one of our Exploring Identities and Futures (EIF) students ran a bake sale to raise money in support of refugees for their Community Project.
We also held a casual day, with all funds raised donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, helping to support access to books and learning for Indigenous children in remote communities. We are proud to announce that we raised $438.50.
We are incredibly proud of the efforts and spirit shown by our students and staff. Events like these continue to strengthen our commitment to reconciliation and to building a school culture that values diversity, respect, and collective action.
