Revegetation Community Project

Successful Revegetation Community Project
On Thursday 5 June, Aberfoyle Park High School embarked on an inspiring revegetation project with the help of 341 dedicated volunteers.
This included 19 community volunteers, year 7 students, year 11 biology students, outdoor education classes from years 9 and 10, student members of our environment club, the student representative council, school captains and two local year 6 classes from Flagstaff Hill Primary School and Coromandel Valley Primary School. Together, they successfully planted 825 native plants.
This initiative marks a significant step towards creating a thriving wetland corridor, enhancing biodiversity and improving our local environment. The project honours the legacy of John Spurr, a former staff member who was deeply passionate about environmental conservation.
Engaging students in such projects is crucial for their education, offering hands-on experience and fostering a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship. It empowers them to take an active role in preserving our planet.
We extend our gratitude to Hills Biodiversity for their invaluable support, which was instrumental in the success of this project. Your dedication and hard work have made a significant positive impact on our environment.
A special thank you goes to Ms Applegate for her exceptional effort in organising this project, and to everyone involved for making this initiative a resounding success.
