As the end of term 2 approaches, we have moved into the second semester for year 7 to 11 students. Our year 12 students will be moving into their last fifteen weeks of their learning before they start the last leg of their schooling journey with finalisation of assessment tasks including examinations.
Reports for semester 1 for years 7 to 12 students will be available on Friday 4 July and also term 2 reports for year 12's.
The end of the term provides on opportunity for students to reflect on what they have achieved and areas they want to improve.
This could include thinking about:
Term 2 has been busy with the continuation of excursions as well as students and teachers preparing for the end of semester 1 and the start of semester 2.
The bi-annual ski trip will occur in the last week of the term. I wish all of our students and staff involved a safe trip and return to South Australia exhausted however without any significant injuries.
There are some school improvements planned which will see:
We are in the process of reviewing our bullying and harassment policy and procedures. There should be more information and about this in term 4 after it has to gone to our Governing Council.
I am on leave for term 3. In my absence, Cassie Dickeson will be the principal, and Fran Charlton will be the deputy principal. Julie Mohtasham will be the assistant principal for the senior school.
We also have some other staff on leave, including Ash Brook. Sam Eager will be taking the role of mathematics leader. Our third student free day will be on the 21 July, the first day of term 3. The focus will be on assessment task design to support student learning.
I wish everyone a safe and relaxing term 2 school holidays as we face the cold and wet weeks of winter with the promise of warmer weather from mid term 3.
See you in term 4
