Dear Parents

Congratulations to our girls basketball team and Mrs Francis on an outstanding performance last week at the NSW PSSA Knockout Finals. The girls played off for a place in the top four against Franklin Public School from the Riverina in their first game. The girls had a very tight match on their hands against the winners from 2022. Unfortunately it was not to be, with the girls going down 32-26 in the end. Our next game against Goulbourn West was to be a play off for equal 5th spot in the state. It was a very close and intense match for three quarters, but we got the upper hand towards the middle of the last quarter and ran away with the game 30-13. This made the girls equal 5th in the state for 2023. Well done to our girls and Mrs Francis. We are all super proud.

Meal Roster for Cathy Kassis' family

Last term, we were all extremely saddened at the loss of one of our Kindergarten students, Cathy Kassis. As a way of showing our support for Cathy's family, the P & C have started a meal roster. If you are able to provide a meal for the family, please follow this link and enter your details. Meals are to be delivered to the school office on your nominated day. We thank our entire school community for their ongoing support of the school.

A reminder that our School Swimming Program is in its final days for registration and payment. If you would like your child to take part in the School Swimming Program in weeks 8, 9 and 10, please complete the swimming program note on the parent portal and pay the $145.00 participation fee. All notes and money close on Monday, 30th of October. If you need any additional information or assistance accessing the notes, please contact the school office.

Attendance

We are committed to working with you to offer support and remove any barriers that may be preventing your child from regularly attending school.

Please remember that the NSW Education Act requires that all student absences must be explained within 7 days of the first day of them being away from school. Please contact us promptly whenever your child is absent and let us know the reason for them being away. This allows us to provide the right support and make sure your child's absences are recorded correctly.

In the event your child has repeated or ongoing unexplained absences, we will continue to try to contact you about each absence to provide appropriate support for you and your family.

We know that for our students, every day of school matters.

Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up and can negatively impact your child's learning and well-being. When your child misses one day a week, that's 40 days of school and eight weeks of learning in one year. Over an entire school journey, this adds up to 2.5 years of lost learning.

Unexplained  Absences for Week 2

Congratulations to these classes for no unexplained absences last week:

1/2M, KP, 1G, 1CW, 3/4L, 3/4S, 3/4M, 3-6R and 3-6J

Overall Attendance

Currently, our attendance rate is above the state percentage, with 284 students attending at or above 90% of the time.
