Faith & Mission Report

Danny Franc

Mission Fair Day was celebrated on the last day of term. Over $7000 was raised for our missions.

Thank you to all of our students and their families for supporting this event.

Term 4 has begun in a busy way with a few events occurring during the first couple of weeks.

Our monthly Uniting Church lunch was scheduled this week. Mr Leo McMahon once again was the staff member providing lunch with the support of our wonderful students. Leo often volunteers his time for this event, and without staff like Leo, and Maryanne Gustus who organises this event, opportunities like this for our students do not occur. Thankyou Leo and Maryanne.

Staff formation took place at Douglas Park, one and a half hours south of Sydney last week. This program, called “Love, the Heart of Creation”, is an integral opportunity for staff from the four MSC Colleges to come together and continue their spiritual formation. This is important to our college, as the MSC ethos defines who we are and how we go about doing things throughout the college.

Lia Mailes was our representative at this formation experience, and as the Religious Education Coordinator, she can provide enhance our college in many ways by linking our MSC ethos to the RE curriculum.

Coming up:

  • November 11th – Remembrance Day
  • November 14th – Year 7 Reflection Day
  • November 17th – Year 12 Graduation Mass at St Mary’s Church Hamilton
  • November 23rd – Year 8 Reflection Day.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
