News from Foundation
What a busy few weeks we have had at school! It has been amazing to see so much resilience! I am very proud of how FANTASTIC they all are!!!
Shrek Jr
It was so beautiful to see how excited and amazing the Foundations were during production! They all did such an amazing job and all their practice really paid off! Here are some wonderful photos and some of the work we did in class about Shrek!!
Appreciating our environment
Amongst all the craziness of production and swimming, we took a long walk on the cross-country track last week with the grade 1/2 students! Anthony has done an amazing job of keeping the track maintained by making a stable walkway. The kids loved exploring and searching and listening for animals! It was a great way for us to reflect on the environment around us! You should definitely go and check our cross-country track out!
Inquiry
Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at our cultural topic; Celebrating Differences. Our students will be learning about multicultural Australia and embracing the different food, games, music, and traditions of other cultures that live within Australia.
One of the projects that we will begin to look at next week is our homework task of the 'Where Are My Family From' worksheet (sent out this week)
We are hoping that the children will be able to bring this completed worksheet into class by the end of next week (the 17th of November). Thank you for assisting your child with this informative project.
For this project, children need to cut out and glue on the world map plotting where they and their family members were born. It would also be great if families could add other family members (either drawing a picture or providing a photograph of the family members). You can use string/tape or just draw a line to plot which country your family members come from. We will be demonstrating this in class this week so that children understand how to complete the activity. If you need a new worksheet for home please let us know.
