News from Four/ Five

Production, Production, Production

What an amazing production last week. All grade 4 and 5 students worked so hard to act, perform, and sing their way through a busy week of three rehearsals and performances. All the children did an outstanding job of overcoming their nerves and stepping out of their comfort zones to perform and sing.

Thank you to all the parents who came to see their kids perform. Each child worked so hard over the last six months to perfect their lines, sing in harmony and dance in sync with each other. This opportunity assisted students to discover something new about themselves.  For some, it was their first time singing and dancing in a whole school production and being up on stage.  We hope you enjoyed watching your children shine.  Here are several behind-the-scenes pictures for you to enjoy.

They are Poets and they didn't even know it

Over the last few weeks, the children have been learning about and creating different types of poems. They have been investigating Concrete poems, rhyming poems, backward poems and found poems. Each child will be picking one of these poems to perform. We look forward to these performances in the coming weeks. Some children have chosen to read these out in our grade 4 and 5 assembly which will be held in three weeks time. I will endeavor to put some of these poems in the next newsletter when the children have had a bit more time to publish their work.
