Year 5/6 Cluster News Term 4 Week 2

Home Inquiry:

Read for 20 minutes. Reading is to be recorded in student diaries with the book title, page numbers read, and the time read. 

Shirts 

Students are currently designing shirts for next year. These are due this Monday and will be voted on by students. We will let parents know when sample shirts are available to checking sizing. We will also outline pricing, etc.  

Exhibition 

A huge congratulations to the year 6 students who have presented their learning through Exhibition. A big thank you to Mr Gardner, Mrs Hughes and Mrs Zadow for facilitating their learning.  

Literacy  

Year 5 

Students have been writing their letter of application for a leadership position for next year. This is due this coming Monday.

Year 6 

This week the students are reflecting on their learning and the journey of exhibition.  

Inquiry 

As we start week 4, students will be starting their science based, ‘How the world works” unit. This unit will take us through to the end of the year.  

Maths 

Next week, we are beginning our Algebra unit which includes order of operations and BEDMAS.  

OVER DUE! Graduation Photos 

We would like to share a photo gallery of the graduating class on graduation night. We require 2 photos of your child to show how they have grown up into the students we know today. These photos can be emailed to Amy Hughes (hughes.amy@goldengrove.sa.edu.au). Please include a baby photo and first day of school photo. Please have these in asap!  

Just a reminder students need to have a fully charged iPad, a keyboard, headphones, hat and a drink bottle every day.
