Daniel Butterworth Art Workshop

Today some of our students along with students from Galen Catholic College had the opportunity to undertake an art workshop with artist Danny Butterworth, who is currently in town judging the King Valley Art Show. 

Danny is a Doug Moran and Archibald Prize finalist, an established artist specialising in portraiture – frequently using self portraits to express social, political and personal views he is  an inspiring and encouraging teacher. 

Students and teachers came together for a day of painting and artmaking where they became more experienced in a new form of expression and gained confidence in their artistic skills. Students were able to collaborate and work with others as they showcased their ability to create a painting from an image.  

A huge thank you to the King Valley Arts Committee for their assistance in planning and funding the event, and thank you to Danny Butterworth for enriching our young minds and building their confidence up to know that "Art has no boundaries, everyone can create."
