Working Together for Student Success

Mr Simon Vaughan, Deputy Principal

Another year is flying past with the recent Celebration of Excellence Awards Night and Graduation being held.

Being such a short term, it is imperative that students are into their good study habits both at school and at home.  One way of ensuring that students set themselves up for success is being at school and constantly reviewing the Term 4 Assessment Calendars emailed home and found on the school’s website.

The Year 12s are now preparing for the external exams.  The exam schedule can be found on the QCAA website.  I would also encourage all students to have created a MyQCE student portal log in as this is where Year 12 results can be found.  The College does not issue Year 12 report cards or certificates. When registering, students are advised to use their personal email, not their school email address. Results for Year 12 students this year will be available on Friday 15th December, this includes ATARs for eligible students.

This term will go quickly so it is important that students are familiar with due dates for assessment and also the assessment policy, which again can be found on the College’s website.  Ideally, but not always accessible, if students are requiring an extension or miss an exam, a medical certificate is best practice.  Contacting the classroom teacher firstly and then the respective MLC is also another good practice to get into.

All the best for the rest of this term.

Regards,

Simon Vaughan
