Foundation Art - Self Portraits in Isabella’s Garden 🌱

After reading the book Isabella’s Garden and enjoying the beautiful illustrations by artist Rebecca Cool, students created a stamp of a garden. This was achieved by gluing pieces of wool onto cardboard. The wool was painted and then printed or stamped onto paper for the background. They then illustrated self portraits in the lovely style used by Rebecca Cool.

It's a Small World by Mary Blair

Year 1s took their Art outside and did an observational drawing of either the old main school building or the new building across the road.

They then added a touch of Mary Blair - the first female artist to work for Disney - applying patterns, colour and fun.
