Celebrating our School Diversity: Ni Chonghaile Family

Thank you to Aashi and Mahi’s family for sharing two of their important Hindi traditions:

Navratri is celebrated every year over nine nights. The festival honours the divine feminine. We celebrate the victory of Goddess Durga. She had a battle with a powerful demon so we celebrate the victory of good over evil. We celebrate nine forms of the deity.  Here are some pictures of us from the Navratri festival:

We celebrate with dancing called Garba - famous in the Gujarat region of India. 

 

Diwali:
