Stage 4 Assessment

This term will see our Year 7 and 8 students have their first assessment blocks. These are mini blocks aimed at a slow transition to the more rigorous assessment periods that exist in older year groups. The exams will take place in the hall and will be scattered across two weeks, weeks 7 and 8. A timetable will be issued next week.

To assist with family scheduling here is the term 3 assessment overview for all year groups. Attendance throughout the term is paramount to learning growth and should be a high priority for all assessments. Evidence suggests students who sit exams after their cohort are more stressed going into the exam and usually perform below their usual standard.

Semester 2 Schedule

I am so proud of our Year 12 students and the diligent way they have prepared for their Trial HSC exams. They are working through practice papers and utilising the extended opening hours of their Learning Centre.

Book Week

The theme of this year’s Book Week is ‘Book An Adventure’. This year staff and students are encouraged to dress as their favourite book character on Friday, 22 August.

Junior Thinkers Conference

On Thursday, 7 August a number of students from year 7 and 8 attended the Junior Thinkers Conference at Ascham School in Edgecliff.  The event was an opportunity to explore thought provoking ideas across philosophy, science and ethics. It promoted interdisciplinary learning, encouraging students to think outside the box by engaging with the world of concepts and ideas.
