The Great Book Swap - Wednesday 20th August

We're holding a Great Book Swap to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) to provide books and learning resources to children living in remote Communities across Australia.

The Great Book Swap is a fantastic way to celebrate reading locally, learn more about Indigenous languages and culture, and raise funds for a great cause. This year the ILF is aiming to raise $300,000 to gift 30,000 new books to remote Communities. We have been allocated to the Yari language house. Yari means ‘whale’ in Yawuru. This is an endangered language spoken on the South Coast of Broome in Western Australia.

Your child can bring along a book to school to donate/swap. There will be boxes provided in the Seminar Room, where you can drop off your donation. The Fire Carriers and Library Captain will help organise the books for our great Swap Day on Wednesday 20th August. On this day all students are asked to donate a gold coin in exchange for a book. We are aiming to raise $500.00.
