Co-curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

Welcome back to all our families and boys to the start of Term 3. This term sees the conclusion of the Winter season on Saturday 9 August, with the last three rounds being played, and no winter sport training after this date. Following the Winter season we quickly jump into our short, but very competitive Athletics season. The boys involved have been informed, and there are three carnivals leading into the major IPSHA Carnival in Week 6. The term concludes with the Junior School's Winter Sport Presentation Evening in Week 10. All times and dates will be released closer to the event dates.

Over the holidays, many of the boys took the time to relax and restore themselves after a very busy Semester One. Many more boys continued their sporting endeavours with club commitments, playing in tournaments, attending state championships, and even a few attending international competitions.

Nicolae Ionita ran in the State Cross Country Championships in late Term 2. Nicolae was able to run a qualifying time for the Nationals. Considering he was unwell at the time, this is a great result.

Antonio Taouk competed in the WBC Muay Thai Championships in Verona, Italy. Antonio managed to win through to a silver medal, having faced fighters from Cyprus and England on his way.

I know the College community will join me in congratulating these boys on their outstanding achievements.

I look forward to another busy yet rewarding term. I wish all the boys the best of luck in their final rounds of Winter sport and look forward to the Athletics season to come.
