The Year 10 and 11 Art Making & Exhibiting students embarked on an exciting excursion that blended contemporary art practice with the timeless beauty of the Impressionist movement. The day began at Blockprojects Gallery, where students had the privilege of hearing from renowned artist and curator Jeremy Kibel. Kibel shared insights into the world of curating and the intricacies of contemporary art, offering students a deeper understanding of the creative process and the role of galleries in shaping the art world.

Following this talk, students made their way to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) to explore the stunning Impressionists exhibition. This experience allowed them to engage with iconic works by artists like Monet, Degas, and Renoir, while drawing connections between the classical techniques of the Impressionists and modern art practices. It was an inspiring day of learning and exploration that will undoubtedly influence the students' own art making and exhibition projects in the coming months.
