WHAT IS HAPPENING AT PPPS

Late Arrival

We ask that when a child arrives late to school, that they are walked in by a parent or guardian and are physically signed in at the kiosk in the office. We have noticed an increasing number of children arriving after 9:00 am and entering the school on their own.

Please note that adding an attendance note on the Compass app is not sufficient to change your child’s attendance status to “late.” Children must be signed in via the kiosk; otherwise, they will appear as an unexplained absence, even if you have marked the expected arrival time in the Compass app.

Early Departure

Please see below the process if you wish to collect your child early from school.

Parents are requested to email the teacher via Compass that they wish to collect their child between 10.40-10.50am (start of recess) or 12.50-1.00pm (start of lunch). The child will be issued with an Early Leavers ticket and will be waiting in the office area for collection.

We ask that you stick to these times for early collection for the following reasons:

  • This minimises disruption to classroom teaching and learning.
  • Collecting children at the start of recess and lunchtime eliminates the time-wasting exercise of looking for the children in the playground. It also eliminates unnecessary use of the public address system.

If the above times are totally unsuitable, parents are requested to email the teacher via Compass detailing the time they wish to collect their child. The teacher will ensure the child is ready and waiting at the office.

  • With 730 students this minimises the number of phone calls to the school and relaying messages from the office to teachers. Teachers are often teaching, at meetings or doing yard duty. It is also a more reliable message as it is directly to your child’s teacher.
  • This gives parents an additional option of early collection time without disrupting teaching and learning programs.

If a genuine emergency should occur which necessitates collecting your child early, phone the school and we will arrange for your child to be ready at the office.

  • We understand that genuine emergencies occur, and we want to assist you the best way we can.

We ask that you email the teacher via compass and not just put in an attendance note, as teachers are not notified when an attendance note is made on compass.

Library Donation

Thank you to Kizer (P-11), Luke F (3-30) and Oliver C for your generous book and game donations to our library.

If you have any books new or old in good condition the library would be most grateful for your donations.

Labubu Found

We have had a labubu handed into the office. If this belongs to your child, please send them to the office to collect.
