A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As we approach the end of the term, I would like to share some important updates and information with you.

Enrolments

Last Monday 23 June, we had a wonderful visit to Xavier Catholic School, to share information with the Year 4 and Year 5 students. This annual event proves to be valuable, and helps to strengthen ties between our schools. We eagerly anticipate receiving enrolment documentation from these families.

Additionally, we have now introduced two College tours per term, offering prospective families an opportunity to explore our campus and to learn more about our programs. Our most recent one was held in the morning of Tuesday 1 July. It proved to be a great success, allowing parents to visit the school during the day, to have a glimpse of activities and events at the College.

In other enrolment news, interviews for Year 7s joining our College in 2027 have commenced. We encourage members of the wider community to submit ther application documentation as soon as possible to ensure a smooth enrolment process.

Reporting

As we conclude Semester One, students and families are encouraged to use the reports as a tool for reflection and goal-setting. These conversations can help identify areas for improvement and celebrate achievements. If teaches have requested a meeting regarding a student's learning, we expect parents to follow up promptly to support their child's educational journey.

Staffing

I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff members who have left, or will be leaving us after Semester 1, for their contributions:

  • Ms Karen Partington (Year 5 Teacher)

  • Miss Rachael Stampfli (English Teacher)

  • Dr Esther Janes (Science Teacher)

  • Mrs Yvonne Nicholls (Finance Officer)

  • Mrs Sarah Hastie (parental leave)

  • Mrs Annie Depane (parental leave)

We would like to welcome new staff who have recently joined us, and those soon to join us in Semester 2:

  • Mrs Danni van Dongen (Admin and Student Services Support Officer)
  • Mrs Sam Veenhuizen (Accounts Payable Officer)
  • Mr Matthew Woodford (Psychology and Counselling Team)
  • Mr Ewan Fletcher (Science Teacher)

A very special 'thank you' to Miss Fiona Slater and Mrs Christy Thomas for their wonderful contributions in their acting capacities as Learning Area Coordinator (Science) and Head of Middle School respectively. We appreciate all that you have done!

Safe Holidays

As the term comes to a close, we wish everyone a safe and restful break. Take this time to recharge and enjoy quality moments with family and friends. We look forward to all our students and staff returning with renewed vigour.

College Leadership

Under Mrs Prendergast's principalship, our leadership team has enhanced its capacity, and we thank her for her efforts. We are excited to welcome Ms Giovanna Fiume to our community next term. With her rich principalship and experiences, Giovanna will bring the expertise needed to continue shaping the College's development.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our College community. We look forward to seeing you all next term.

Warm regards,

Jason Meynell

Acting Principal
