Performing Arts News

Hi Tarneit Rise families,

Welcome back to another term of learning. This term prep students are learning about dance. Grade 1-6 students are continuing their learning about music with a focus on instrumental technique.

Last week Prep students were introduced to dance and explored dancing to different songs by following guided dances. They also created their own dance moved inspired by different things such as animals and vehicles. This week students are practicing creating dances as a whole class by suggesting dance moves and doing the dance moves together in a class in the chosen sequence.

This week they are learning to play the glockenspiel by changing the dynamics by making the music soft or loud as well as identifying and playing high and low pitches on the glockenspiel.

Last week the Grade 3 & 4 students learnt how to play the C major scale on boom whackers, glockenspiel and keyboard. They focused on using the right finger and mallet technique while playing the C major scale.
