National Science Week

National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology. It occurs each year in August. This year National Science Week is from August 9th to August 17th.

The National Science Week Schools Theme for 2025 is ‘Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language.’ This theme invites students and teachers across Australia to delve into the mysteries of the universe by exploring the fundamental languages of nature, including mathematics and the groundbreaking field of quantum science.

“Decoding the Universe” aims to inspire and engage students by exploring the mathematics and quantum science that underpin both the natural world and the modern technologies we use every day, from photosynthesis to satellite navigation.

Next week, all of our Learning Communities will be celebrating Science Week. On Wednesday 13th August, we will be having a Science afternoon where each community will participate in Science Investigations and Experiments. It should be a fun and exciting afternoon of science. Read this page in the next few weeks to find out how it went.
