Partnerships and Pathways

We’ve begun the term where we left off with a wide range of guest speakers visiting the College to provide our students with information and advice on careers and post school plans.
Students recently had the opportunity to learn more about practical career pathways through engaging presentations from Paul Stenning, Principal at Cathwest Innovation College and Abbey Slaughter from Apprenticeship Support Australia. Their insights highlighted the exciting options available for students interested in pursuing trades and hands-on careers, including meaningful pathways into apprenticeships and traineeships. Thank you to Paul and Abbey for inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals and helping our students envision bright futures.
Our stellar Discover the UNIverse series continues this term, offering students valuable opportunities to connect with leading universities. Lunch and Learn recently featured Future Students teams from ACU and Macquarie University, with visits from UTS, the University of Sydney, Notre Dame, Wollongong and Charles Sturt University still to come. These engaging sessions provide timely insights into university course options, admission pathways, early entry programs, scholarships, and campus life — particularly supporting our Year 11 and 12 students to take confident steps toward higher education.
And finally, we’re thrilled to officially introduce MIKU, the newest member of our Pathways team! Meaning “first voice from the future” - MIKU perfectly captures the spirit of innovation and inspiration she brings to our College community. A huge thank you to our creative Year 8 students Lola, Hannah, and Olivia for originally suggesting the name, and to everyone who participated in the voting process for the nation’s other big election! MIKU will be a fun and friendly presence around the school, collecting questions and ideas about pathways and careers and passing them on to our Pathways Coaches. Keep an eye out for her popping up around campus and on social media soon!
For any pathways enquiries, or to book a coaching conversation (in addition to using Miku the Careers Monster!) - students can pop into the library or email us: amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au and koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au
