Curriculum

Semester 1 Reports have been issued to Year 11 on the 9th May and Year 12 on the 8th May.  We encourage parents and carers to celebrate the achievements of your daughter with them and support their learning into Semester 2 by discussing their learning goals for future improvement.  You will also have the opportunity to discuss areas for improvement in Year 11 & 12 Parent Teacher Interviews on Monday, 12th of May.

Year 10 Exams will be held on Thursday and Friday, the 29th & 30th May, and Monday, the 2nd June.  The exam timetable has been shared with students in Week 1 and also with parents via Compass.  It is important that students observe the assessment processes in relation to any unexpected absence/s during the exam block.  These are described on the bottom of the exam timetable.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YEAR 11 2026

The processes for Year 11 (2026) Subject Selections will commence shortly.  The  Year 11 2026 Parent and student Information evening will be held at the college on Tuesday 3 June 5pm-6:15pm. Attendance at this evening is compulsory for all current Year 10 students and their parents/carers to hear about what is on offer and the process that ensures your daughter is able to select the most suitable courses for her HSC learning pathway.  We offer considerable support so that students can make well informed and appropriate course choices for Years 11 & 12.  This includes a Parent/Student Information Evening, Subject Talks from KLA Leaders, and the valuable advice of our Pathways Coaches, Adam MacNamara and Kara Oliver.  May I encourage you to commence conversations with your daughter about her interests, passions, and future plans so that she makes thoughtful and informed decisions around her pattern of study in Years 11 & 12. This process was used with parents and students in 2025 and the feedback from this was incredible positive highlighting the need to always work in partnership.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS ON OFFER AT CCC

In 2026 we will be offering a number of Academic Scholarships to students studying the HSC at CCC. I will be sharing information about this to students at the Year 10 meeting in the coming week, and also to you as parents/carers at the upcoming  Year 11 2026 Information Evening on 3rd June 5pm-6:15pm. This is an exciting opportunity and is open to all students who have a strong academic ability and are contributing positively to the spirit and life of the college. There will be both full fee scholarships and partial fee scholarships on offer to Year 11 2026 students. What a wonderful opportunity for our Chisholm girls.

HSC Minimum Standard Literacy and Numeracy

All students are required to demonstrate a minimum standard of literacy and numeracy to be eligible for the award of the HSC. All students must complete online reading, writing and numeracy tests to demonstrate that they have met the HSC minimum standards. These tests will be available for students to sit in Year 10, 11 or 12 and even after the HSC.

Minimum Standard Reading Test – 45 multiple choice questions

Minimum Standard Numeracy Test – 45 multiple choice questions

Minimum Standard Writing Test – one question based on a visual or text prompt with up to a 500 word-response

Current Year 10 students will complete the online Minimum Standards tests in week 7 this term. Students will have an opportunity to complete a practice online test in the lead up to the online testing. These tests should not be a source of concern for students or parents. Please be assured that the teachers are working with your daughter to ensure she is developing the necessary skills to meet the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy. If you have any questions about the minimum standard requirements, please contact Mrs Smith at the College.
