Industrial Technology Building

Late afternoon on the 30 October 2024, one of our cleaning staff alerted us that there was smoke  coming out of Block T – Industrial Arts Block.  Industrial Technology was on fire – Emergency Services were alerted and responded without delay.   The fire was quickly extinguished but damage was sustained to almost the entire building by fire, smoke and water damage.  Thanks to the quick action of our cleaner and Emergency Services, the building structure was saved.

After several months of refurbishment, the building is fully available for our students and staff.  The building had a complete refit out internally, a  new roof, ceilings, some internal walls, flooring and of course equipment.  If has been an ongoing process and unfortunately student’s study was disrupted during the months of construction works.

The refurbished building is now operational with new equipment and a facility that supports our students.

• Cooler, More Comfortable Spaces: We’re proposing to install new fans in the Sports Hall to help keep our students cool during PE classes, assemblies, and events.

   

• More Usable Sports Areas: We’re considering adding a shade structure and improved lighting to the external basketball courts to enhance their usability in various weather conditions.

   

• A Better Spectator Experience: We’re exploring options to provide additional shade for our bleachers, so parents and students can cheer on our teams in a safer, sun-friendly environment.

   

• Enhanced Student Safety: We’re evaluating the introduction of swipe card access for bathrooms to foster a more secure and accessible space for everyone.
