Important information regarding the School Savings Bonus

SCHOOL SAVING BONUS

 

There is only 8weeks left to use your school savings bonus towards MVPS school uniforms at PSW.

Your School Savings Bonus credits can be used at PSW; our uniform suppliers in-store or online shop, or through State Schools’ Relief until 30 June 2025.

If any amount of your School Savings Bonus credit is unspent as at 1 July 2025, it will automatically become a school activities credit for you to use through our school. The credit will be available for you to use at the school from August 2025. 

The delay is to allow for the processing of outstanding transactions and invoices with suppliers. 

If you will need to access the School Saving Bonus for school activities in July 2025, please access the online system before 30 June 2025 to manually allocate to school activities. 

 

Reallocations of SSB credits towards school activities

The School Savings Bonus can be used towards activities including; 

  • Camps
  • Excursions or Incursions
  • Swimming and sporting programs
  • Yr 6 graduation

It cannot be used towards school fees for Curriculum Contributions, Student Fruit or School First Aid / Nurse programs.

 

To reallocate the credits, you will need to log into the SSB portal and select ‘School Activities’ with your nominal amount.

Our school receives notification from the SSB Portal, indicating new SSB credits have been received (please allow approx. 2-3days from when you reallocate funds).  

These credits will sit in your family account within our school system.  It will not be visible in your Compass wallet.

Our office will then make a manual adjustment within the Compass Portal on any existing or future events in the same way we would with CSEF/family credits.

Please make note of the Additional event details for each event.  This will clarify the full amount owing for the event before credits have been applied.

It also clarifies that “By consenting to the event, you confirm allocation of your family credit towards this event.”

*IMPORTANT NOTE* 

This is important to note as we are unable to undo this step if you consent ‘in error’.  Any requests for a reversal will need to comply with our Refund Policy and may not guarantee you a credit reversal.

 

Next Steps

If you do not want your child to participate (ie. decline) the event, the funds will revert back into a credit on your family statement and will be allocated to the next future event (*as long as consent/approval has not been complete).

 

If you prefer to pay for the event instead of using your SSB funds, please contact hollie.brown@education.vic.gov.au and I will make the adjustment in the relevant Compass event to allow you to pay.

 

Compass Wallet

Please note the funds will not be visible in your Compass Wallet.  Compass is an independent system from our school finance system, and at this stage there are no plans for them to incorporate the SSB credits into their system.
