Principal's Message

Community Engagement

School Council met last week, and we shared the School Council Report with you earlier today. This report provides an overview of our discussions so that you are well-informed about recent developments.

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in joining the Community Engagement Sub-Committee. This group plays a vital role in strengthening connections within our school community. We’ll be meeting soon and we will share an update with you.

Our 2025 Class Representatives met on Friday morning to learn more about their role in supporting teachers and fostering connections among families. They will be in touch with families who opted in to the class list. If you would like to be included but haven’t yet provided consent, please contact the office and we’ll be happy to help.

ISSE Delegation from Chicago, USA

We are excited to welcome the International School-to-School Experience (ISSE) delegation from St John Berchman’s School in Chicago, arriving in Melbourne on Sunday morning. The group will be with us for the next three weeks, during which time they will be immersed in school life and experience the rich culture of our city.

During their stay, our visitors will spend time in classrooms across the school, attend the Year 4 Camp, and explore some of Melbourne’s most iconic local attractions. A heartfelt thank you to the families who are generously hosting our guests and to the organising team led by Adam F and Sam K for their incredible work in coordinating this experience.

We will officially welcome the delegation at a special assembly on Monday at 2:30pm. We look forward to the cultural exchange and the friendships that will be formed through this unique and enriching program.

Education Week

Education Week is an annual celebration of public education in Victoria. In 2025, it will take place from Monday 19 May to Friday 23 May.

This year’s theme, "Celebration of Cultures," highlights the rich diversity within our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe, seen, and welcome at school. It’s a reminder that all children deserve a place where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

To mark this special week, we warmly invite families to join us for an Open Morning on Tuesday 13 May from 9:00 am – 10:00 am to celebrate learning and Education Week.

Year 6 and Year 4 Camps

Our Year 6 students recently returned from an enjoyable and successful camp at Waratah Bay, where they took part in surfing and a range of adventure activities. This annual camp is a much-anticipated highlight of their final year of primary school. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and parent helpers who made this experience possible.

Next week, it’s our Year 4 students’ turn as they head off to Phillip Island for their camp. These experiences provide students with valuable opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen connections with peers, and create lasting memories.

Mother's Day Classic Walk

Our Kindness Squad has chosen to support the Mother’s Day Walk.  The Mother's Day Classic is a special walking and running event dedicated to raising funds for life-saving breast and ovarian cancer research.

We warmly invite you to support this important cause by joining our school events:

  • Junior School Walk (Prep, Year 1 & 2) - This Friday, May 2 at 3:00 PM. Join us on the school oval after a short junior school assembly.
  •
  • Senior School Walk (Years 3 to 6) -  Friday, May 9 at 3:00 PM.  Join us on the school oval after a short senior school assembly.

Wear something pink to show your support and please bring a gold coin donation.

Let’s come together as a community to honour, remember, and support those touched by breast and ovarian cancer. Last year’s event was a wonderful success, and we

hope to create that same fun, positive energy again—while contributing to vital research that saves lives and protects families.
