Easter Season is Here

The Stone is Rolled Away
This morning we gathered with all the students in the church to celebrate the Easter season. It was a wonderful celebration with singing, readings and stories. Please ask your child about it.
The Easter season is the most joyful and important time in the Catholic Church, celebrating Jesus Christ’s Resurrection from the dead. In 2025, it began on Easter Sunday, April 20, and concludes on Pentecost Sunday, June 8. Lasting 50 days, it reflects core Catholic beliefs: Christ’s victory over sin and death, the promise of eternal life, and the birth of the Church through the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
For Catholic people, it’s a season of renewal, joy, and deepened faith. Hope is the central theme — reminding believers that life triumphs over death, and God’s love endures forever.
Pope Francis' Final ' Urbi et Orbi - "To the City and the World"
Before our Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday, he made an appearance during the annual Easter 'Urbi et Orbi'. Although he was well enough to complete the full address, he gave the world a blessing and asked Archbishop Diego Ravelli to deliver his message to the world.
In the Easter Message, Pope Francis proclaimed Christ’s Resurrection as the triumph of love, life, and hope over hatred and death. He called for peace in war-torn regions, urged compassion for the vulnerable, and challenged world leaders to reject fear and violence.
Hope, rooted in Christ’s victory, empowers believers toward peace and solidarity.
A strong message from a strong man.
On Monday, we said this prayer during a prayer service in his name:
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of Pope Francis.
He showed us how to care for others, how to love our Earth,
and how to live simply and joyfully like Jesus.
Bless him now with peace and joy in heaven,
and help us to keep his teachings alive in our hearts.
Amen."
He will be missed.
