Principal's News

Dear Familes and Friends of Trinity Primary School, A very warm welcome back to each of you as we begin a new term together. Whilst, of course, we are extremely excited to be back together and looking forward to an action packed term full of new learning and activities we cannot help but to stop and mourn the passing of our Pope, Pope Francis. On Tuesday Mr Ru organized a very moving prayer service so that all of us could have the opportunity to stop and pray for Pope Francis and of course for all people on earth who will miss his leadership and influence. The process for electing a new Pope will take place in the coming weeks and no doubt we will be kept informed through the media as this occurs. We pray that whoever takes up this extremely important position is able to continue to do the great work of Pope Francis and to be a great role model for all of us in how we live our lives.
This week's newsletter wil be much briefer than normal, however, from next week we will begin to include the usual content to keep you all up to date with what is happening at Trinity. Most impiortantly we look forward to working with our families in partnership and in positive ways to ensure our school is the best possible place for each of our children to learn and develop. As always we will continue to communicate through our Parent Portal, the School Newsletter and our Community Calendar. If at any time you are unsure of dates or events please email the office (admin@tcs.catholic.edu.au) or call the office (94287180) for these updates.
Important Dates
A few reminders for next week:
we will be having our ANZAC DAY commemoration on Monday 28th May at our morning gathering,
Year 3-6 School Cross Country on Thursday 1st May 9-12pm
Trinity Learning Club will commence on Thursday 1st May for those children involved.
Trinity House Cross Country 2025
We are excited to announce that this year we will be having a Trinity House Cross Country event for all students in Year 3-6. On Thursday 1st May we will walk all students down to Burnley Oval at approx 9am where we will race the students around a 2km course. Approx finish 12pm. On Seesaw there will be a picture of the course with approx times and distances.
We will also encourage students to wear their house colours on the day, this can be a T-shirt in their house colour or maybe a ribbon, head band etc.
This type of event will need quite a few marshalls to help stand on the course to direct students and to cheer them on. If you will be available to help or have any particular expertise in this area and want to help set up the course with me please let Mrs McLeary know rmcleary@tcs.catholic.edu.au
Many thanks
Learning Overviews
Next week I will include overviews for each year level's learning which I encourage you to read so that you are able to initiate conversations with your chuildren about their learning in each of the curriculum areas.
This term we look forward to many whole school celebrations including our annual Mother's Day Breakfast on Friday 9th May from 8am to 10am, Careers Week from Monday 12th May as well as many others. On Saturday 3rd May, Trinity will once again host election voting and the gates will be open from 8am until the final voting time of 6pm. Thank you to all our volunteers who will again run the Sausage Sizzle and our ever popular Bake Sale. Whilst a great fund raising activity these services also help to build the community profile of our school and showcase the amazing strength of our community which is spoken about in such a positive way in the wider Richmond Community.
