Dear Parents/Guardians,
Interviews
It was wonderful to see parents here on Tuesday afternoon taking the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss their progress, achievements and reflect on the year so far. This was a good chance to discuss ways we can work together to support your child moving forward. If you were unable to make it on this day, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the office to organize another time or even just a chat over the phone.
Mothers Day breakfast- tomorrow
I am looking forward to our Mother's Day breakfast tomorrow morning at 8:30am. We hope most of our Mothers (and others) can join us for pancakes and a cuppa.
Do it for Dolly Day - Dress in blue!
Friday 9th, is 'Do It For Dolly Day'. It is a day dedicated to bringing the community together, spreading kindness and uniting in helping break the silence around bullying. Dolly's favourite colour was blue so students are invited to come to school dressed in blue casual clothes. We encourage students to bring a gold coin donation for the cause. We will also run extra activities on the day to educate students and promote this important message.
2026 Prep Information Night
Our planning for 2026 commences on Monday, May 12 with our Prep Information Night. Please share this information with anyone you know who is contemplating enrolling their child at our school next year or would like to know more about our school.
Parking Reminder
A friendly reminder to avoid parking or dropping off students in school gate ways as these need to be kept clear for emergencies, urgent maintenance, safety reason and is also against the law. Thank you for your help with this.
Emergency Management Procedure
All schools are required to have an emergency management plan which includes a variety of processes for handling an emergency. These include at least one practice emergency drill each term. These include; evacuation offsite, evacuation onsite, lockdown and a zone lock out. We plan to hold an evacuation drill on Thursday 15th May. If you have any questions or concerns, please let their classroom teacher know so that we can put some additional supports in place
Attitude to school survey
In the coming weeks, all students in grade 4 to 6 will complete the Attitude to School survey. The Attitudes to School survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. The survey only takes 20-30 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.
EDUCATION WEEK AND OPEN DAY
This is a perfect segue to advise everyone that we are holding an open day on Thursday 22nd during Education Week with the school open to visitors and current families. From 9:30am to 11am our School Captains will be running tours. Please call or email the office if you would like to book a tour. We will also have different activities and events during Education week - Watch this space.
School Beanie
With the cooler weather creeping up on us, don't forget we have our school beanies available from the office for $12. The school makes no profit on this. If paying online please provide your child's surname to ensure the payment can be tracked.
Trading Cards/Toys
Just a friendly reminder staff are not responsible for student football cards or other personal belongings brought to school. If students give, trade or swap items staff will not spend unnecessary learning time sorting the issue out. Please encourage your child to leave their treasured possessions at home.
