From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Term 2! I hope all our families had a restful and enjoyable break over the school holidays. It has been wonderful to see our students return to school with enthusiasm and readiness for the term ahead.
We have hit the ground running with several exciting events taking place already.
Mother’s Day High Tea
Today, we celebrated the special women in our lives with our annual Mother's Day High Tea. It was a beautiful opportunity to acknowledge the love, care, and support that mothers, grandmothers, and carers provide. Our Year 6 students did a fantastic job serving our guests with maturity and grace—thank you to them and the staff who helped prepare for this event.
Athletics Carnival
Friday was our school Athletics Carnival, it was a fun-filled day of friendly competition, teamwork, and school spirit. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Middleton for her organisation and leadership in planning the carnival. We also appreciated the support of our staff, volunteers, and families who help make days like this run smoothly. It was great to see so many parents, grandparents and friends.
A Special Occasion – Father Murphy
Last Friday evening marked a significant moment for our wider Catholic community, as our former parish priest, Father Murphy, was officially installed as Bishop of Armidale. This is a great honour and we offer him our prayers and best wishes as he takes on this new role of leadership and service.
Walk Safely to School Day – Friday 16 May
This Friday, 16 May, we will be participating in Walk Safely to School Day. This national event encourages children to walk part of the way to school to promote healthy habits and road safety awareness. On the day, school buses will drop students off near the town pool, and staff will be on hand to walk with them safely to school. We encourage as many students as possible to take part.
Pupil Free Day – Friday 6 June
Please note that Friday, 6 June (the Friday before the King’s Birthday long weekend), will be a pupil-free day. On this day, All Saints' staff will be participating in our annual Staff Spirituality Day. We thank you for your understanding and support in allowing our staff this important opportunity for professional and personal reflection.
As we settle into the cooler months, a reminder that Term 2 is a winter uniform term. Weeks 1 and 2 are designated as a crossover period where students may continue wearing summer uniform (weather permitting), but all students are expected to be in full winter uniform by the beginning of Week 3, which is next week, tie included.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and the many opportunities we provide to grow together as a community. We look forward to another productive and rewarding term.
God Bless,
Daniel Francis
