Year 6 Interschool Sport
The end of Term 1 saw our Year 6 students wrap up the opening term of their interschool sports competition.
Each week, all year 6 students participated in either Soccer or Basketball, and played a round robin style competition against other local schools. Interschool sports provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to be risk takers and try sports they are not familiar with, or do not play on the weekend. Students were able to practice new skills, build relationships with students from other schools, and step out of their comfort zone.
Our teams showed great skill improvement and represented our school with pride.
Our students kick off interschool sport for Term 2 in a couple of weeks. The sports this term will be AFL 9’s, Netball and European Handball.

Golden Children and STEM Masters
Golden Children
At the end of last term, we had two past Golden Children go for and earn the title of Golden Child once again.
Congratulations to both Louis from Courage in Year 3 and Sarah from Creeds in Year 2 on your wonderful achievements.
To earn the title of Golden Child, students must earn masters in and be able to name facts about: The planets, rainbows, bones, the solar system, clouds, the mouth, birds, towers, lightning and thunder and all 118 elements of the Periodic Table.
A huge achievement!
STEM Masters - Term 1 2025
In STEM, many students practice and learn, then attempt to earn their Masters to share their learning about many different areas related to our world. Then, in their next STEM class, students receive a personalised STEM Masters certificate.
Please note that many students had already earned many masters in previous years. This is optional and not a compulsory task.
Here are the results of students’ achievements in Term 1 this year. What a fantastic effort!

(Please note, all past Golden Children were asked to re-do all previously earned Masters)

Mathematics Information Evening (14/5/25)
In our previous issue, we invited families to share their expressions of interest to attend a Mathematics Information Evening on Wednesday 14th May.
Thank you to those that have responded already. We will give families another week to submit their interests. More details about the evening will come out soon. A recap of last issue's content are noted below:
- Full transition to Victorian Curriculum 2.0 is now complete in both Mathematics and English.
- Curriculum changes clarify sequencing and support teaching, especially in Mathematics, where reporting of student progress may shift slightly.
- The Mathematics Information Evening on 14th May will explain curriculum updates, new reporting processes, provide insight into our teaching practices and ideas to support your child at home.
- English reporting remains unchanged, but families are encouraged to stay informed about the Mathematics updates as it will look a little bit different from 2025 onwards.
- Learning Conversations (28–29th May) offer a chance to discuss your child's academic and social development in depth with teachers.
If you are interested in attending,
please complete this Expressions of Interest form below:
Pencil this date into your diaries and a formal invitation will be sent out soon.
