Year 8 Interschool Table Tennis
Well done to all of our players in our three Year 8 Boys teams. The students played with pride and they gave their all. They were extremely supportive of all students in the competition and were volunteering to score when they were not playing. Our third team finished 3rd in one of the boys' pools, the second team finished second in their pool and narrowly missed on the grand final. Our first team won the day with some dynamic performances, racing and diving around the court, so they make it through to regional event. Congratulations to everyone who played and represented the College.
Year 9/10 Eastern Zone Girls Soccer
On 6th August a group of Year 9 and 10 girls headed out to Darebin Sports Centre. Three games were played, with the girls managing to almost hold their own against some of the toughest teams in the Eastern Zone. The first game against Doncaster ended in a 1-0 loss conceded in the last three minutes. Olivia R. made some stunning goal keeping saves and was a standout. The second game showed some shifting in positions, with Milly dominating in the midfield, supported by both Olives on the wings and Summer up top, but that game also ended in a 1-0 loss for The Heights against Mt Waverley. By the last game, everyone was super fired up, wanting at least one goal to show for their hard work. So, after some gorgeous work by Ava in Center Defensive Midfield and Mya holding the back line together, with Ella and Olive B. staying back in goalie so Olivia could have a turn-up front, the first goal was scored by Summer, opening the floodgates for Milly, Ava and Olive B. to score, leading to a 9-0 win for The Heights. We all had a great day out and were so happy to get a win!
