On Saturday 10 August from 6–9pm, the National Gallery of Victoria is opening its doors exclusively to teens for NGV Teens: Art Party at NGV International (180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne). This exciting event for secondary school-aged students brings like-minded teens together to explore the NGV after-hours and enjoy a night of dancing, workshops, performances and inspiring talks. 

  

Tickets are now on sale and are $25 for high school students with valid secondary school ID or Victorian Student Pass. The event is fully inclusive and wheelchair accessible. 

 

Highlights of the night include:

  • Music performances by DJ Claire Knight and teen singer-songwriter, Indiana Lewis
  • Art making workshops
  • Exclusive tour of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition Pharaoh with expert Dr Becky Clifton 
  • Photobooth to capture the night

YA Lit Fest 2024

Whitehorse Manningham Libraries are hosting this Teen Literature Event on Saturday 7th September, 12pm - 4pm at Doncaster Library.  

 

Come along for writing workshops and special guest author talks: Lauren Draper, Lili Wilkinson, and Katya de Becerra.

 

This event is free and does not require a booking.

STEM Opportunities at Monash University’s Motorsport Australia Event

 

The engineering student team, Monash Motorsport, would like to invite students to enjoy real-world engineering experiences centred around motorsport. There will be unique workshops, including RC car racing, robot car coding and a chance to have a go in a racing simulator, alongside many more exciting activities!

 

Experience first-hand, the technology and innovation of Monash University’s engineering teams, get up close with student-built Formula Style cars and discover where motorsport can take you.

 

The day will begin with presentations from Motorsport Australia, Monash University and Monash Motorsport, an internationally competitive Formula Student team that designs, manufactures and competes with formula style race cars in Australia and overseas. This will be followed by a collection of interactive activities run by Monash Motorsport, alongside a free lunch.
