NSW Netball Schools Cup
This week O’Connor Catholic College participated in the Regional Day of the NSW Netball Schools Cup. This event was held on Tuesday 6th August and brought together schools from across the region to compete in a gala day full of Netball. The NGS Super Schools Cup is designed to provide NSW school students with the opportunity to enjoy Netball in an inclusive and enjoyable environment, with the chance to participate in the competition both recreationally or competitively.
O’Connor was able to take two combined Year 9/10 teams and one combined Year 7/8 team and over the course of the day, OCC students displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, and enthusiasm. They played with determination and a positive attitude, embodying the true essence of our school's values. The competition was really tough for all our teams, but students rose to the challenge, showcasing their hard work and dedication to the sport.
Our Year 9/10 Blue team consisting of the following players: Britt Doran, Abby Roberts, Siena Bastian, Skye Press, Grace Pett, Alice Hayes and Charlie Archibald finished third in their group. The OCC Year 7/8 team, consisting of the following players: Emily Calkin, Charli kennedy, Bronte Hawthorne, Tahlia Burney, Addy Nugent, Ruby Krug, Jess Newsome, Mercy Suluma, Ava McKay and Chelsea Doran fought extremely hard and finished 2nd overall, narrowly missing out on first place by goal difference.
A huge congratulations to the Year 9/10 White team consisting of the following players: Charlotte Harris, Lizzy Shepheard, Caitlin Montague, Paige Patterson, Marissa Suluma, Mackenzie Gash, Bella McKay and Regan Nugent who have made it through to the Regional Finals to be held in Tamworth later on in the term.
