Year 9 Endeavour
Year 9 Endeavour has been a wild ride from start to finish with students taking to the West MacDonnell Ranges enmass with four groups completing the nine days. They have pushed and challenged themselves as each day passes giving back to the environment by clearing buffel and removing Mexican poppy along sections of the Hugh River. They cooked their meals each night including roo tails, pizza and roast chicken on the campfire.
Crossing the infamous Fringe Lilly Gorge using a makeshift raft for their packs, traversed the Razorback which is one of the most spectacular sections of the Larapinta Trail, walked the cool and prehistoric Spencer Gorge, defied gravity while abseiling at Birthday Gap and dodged the odd cow and dingo along the way.
During this time, they have formed closer friendships with many other students and staff whilst respecting themselves, those around them and the environment. They are part of a long tradition within the college so be sure to have real and inquisitive conversations with those who have been out on the Endeavour adventure during the first two weeks of term.
We were lucky enough to have the two new German Gappies (Noah and Maimouna) join us on the expedition who had only just hit the ground in Australia - what a way to start the immersion in college life.
Students who involved this year are first in line for their choice of dates for Mittagundi in 2025.
