Science and Engineering Challenge

On Wednesday 31st July St Philip's sent a team of 28 students to CMS to compete in this year's Science and Engineering Challenge run by the University of Newcastle.

The day involved several STEM based activities; challenging students to creatively problem solve and work together in teams in order to design and construct solution to a broad array of problems.

From building bridges, designing power networks, sending coded messages, launching gliders, catching model fish and many more, the team from Saints collectively scored 1396 points across the day out of a possible 1600, winning the day outright and earning an invitation to compete in the National Science and Engineering Challenge in October.
