Year 1/2 News

On Thursday the 8th of August we participated in the live book launch of Andy Griffith's latest book - "The Land of Lost Things". Andy discussed his passion for reading and the inspiration behind his ideas. Students then had the opportunity to create their own adventures! We will be sending in our ideas to the State Library in the hope of winning one of 10 signed copies of Andy's new book!
Numeracy
In maths, we have been focused on Division and Subtraction. Over the next couple of weeks we will be consolidating our knowledge of all four operations.
Book Week Celebrations!
We have started off our week with our traditional Book Week dress up day and parade. It was amazing to see the effort that families went to for this event.
Olympics
We had a fun two weeks learning about the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Students studied the history of the games, the stories behind some of the Australian athletes, as well as exploring some of the sports that were held. We read 'Koala Lou' - a story about a koala entering the bush Olympics and talked about the significance of the Olympic rings and their colours.
