Another massive thank you to the parent helpers, Adrian and Jamie and many others for helping Mr E set up first thing in the morning.

A big thank you to Brenda for adding up all of the scores and sorting out the winners for the day.

Inter School Activity Challenge (I.S.A.C.) Report

On Thursday 1st of August, some of the grade 5/6 students went to BlueScope for the ISAC STEM challenge. Wallaroo Primary School were kind enough to share their bus with us which cut the cost of the excursion.

The students were grouped into teams of four and there were around 40 teams participating. We were one of 26 schools, with over 100 students in attendance. The challenge was to build a paper aeroplane that flew the furthest and stayed in the air the longest. The points were calculated as a team so each student's time and distance contributed to the overall score. Each team was given 30 minutes to construct and test their paper aeroplanes.

There were three Bittern teams, Bittern Birds consisted of Luella, Chloe, Gemma and Indie, The Swoopers team was Sheena, Violet and Ashleigh and The Super Flyers was Guy, Dylan, Kooper and Degan. Degan made a paper ball and Dylan threw it but it sadly got disqualified because it wasn’t a plane. The last round was throwing the plane into a net. The 1st prize was a $300 cheque for the winning school, 2nd prize was $200 and 3rd prize was $150. All of the other participating schools received a $50 dollar cheque. Every student received a Freddo Frog and a certificate on the day. Overall each student worked really hard and they should be proud of their efforts.
